FAL (FAL, L1A1, India)
SCAR
Other FN

or

FAL
L1A1
SCAR
Other FN

I never understood why on the FAL files "L1A1, SLR, India" get their own forum, but FAL is grouped with all other FNs.

Seems to me, it's time to give SCAR it's own forum. Give FAL it's own Forum (or combine it with L1A1 to "FAL Type"), and then "other FN"

Its in the Outdoors subforum.

...under "fishing."

Wait?.... Where'd the Marketplace forum just go?

it does need its own. It could easily become the go to place for SCAR knowledge.

I think a SCAR subforum is overdue - as THE place of FAL history and information it seems only logical to me that we would extend our knowledge base to include the FALs evolutionary descendant. I mean, we have M1/M14 and HK forums which get relatively little use and these weapons were co-existant with the FAL, not part of its family tree, so to speak.

A good idea that should be implemented...

I wouldn't

The SCAR doesn't have much history and there are no mods that need to be done to it.
The SCAR 17 is probably the best 7.62 rifle there is. It's accurate enough to be fill the DMR/sniper role displacing a bolt gun

The SCAR 16, while good, isn't nearly adaptive as an AR. In a head to head, a factory SCAR 16 is better than a factory AR but that's about it.
If you need a specialty rifle, an AR is by far the best choice

True, but I don't think history, while interesting, is an overriding necessity for a discussion forum.

While quite limited compared to an FAL, there certainly are mods that many of us have done or are interested in doing, and have discussed here. I think a dedicated subforum would simply make things a bit easier, is all. JMHO, but I vote yes :)

Why not? If it takes off then fine, if not kill it!

I vote yes!

I am interested in one and I would trust the knowledge and integrity of people on this forum above others. Many on here have already purchased and modified one and one place to gain insight would be great!

I do think a subforum to capture 'other' FN manufactured firearms would be helpful in keeping The FAL Files relevant as it relates to legacy and current production firearms.

The SCAR has developed quite a broad following, to include many of us here. I vote 'Yes'.

Combine the L1A1 sub forum with the FN sub forum then, add the Scar sub forum.

I'm hoping to join the Scar club someday soon. How many Fals would I need to sell to buy a Scar?

Yes, there's a Glock forum why not a SCAR forum - a weapon actually made by FN.
