I finally got around to shooting my 74 with the ALG trigger. In my opinion they are well worth the extra cost. I have several Geissele triggers so I am a bit spoiled. If you are contemplating getting an AK , building one and or have one with a crappy trigger this trigger is worth looking into.

Might have to try one.. My 74's have Arsenal FCGs in them which are ok except they have a pretty long reset.

I used the original Polish FCG in my latest Polish build and that thing is almost too good, really light and almost no take up. It's so light that I'm contemplating swapping it out because it almost pulls too easy.

The ALG does have a light pull, around 2.5 lbs or so. It's very smooth.

Just too light for me...My AK's aren't target rifles to just be shot off the bench.

Mine aren't either. Just like the lighter trigger with no creep. Spoiled I guess.

Just saw the CMC AK Trigger at SHOT and it seems very impressive. Has a
very short reset.

Both my Russian rifles have the ALG, I am a big fan.

I went to a local shoot a month or so ago, akfiles member has an iron with an ALG trigger. Felt nice, but the sumbitch broke after not-very-many rounds.

I use tapcos. Heavily modified to clean up the surfaces for little creep, no over travel and sharp reset.

That's funny, it must have been an isolated issue. There are almost NO reports of any issues with the ALG AK triggers having problems other than fitment in some rifles...
Of the 2 I have, they seem to be phenomenal products. They are light for sure, but with practice this isn't an issue.
Anyways, here is some ALG in my 5.45 VEPR porn.

In this video Jim Fuller comments how the ALG is a great trigger, great price but is made from cast parts and that cast parts can break. So, I'm interested in what others think about this issue of cast trigger parts for a battle rifle in a SHTF scenario.

That is the reason I went with Red Star fcg's in my rifles I do care how they shoot. Cost a little more, but for me it was worth it.

Yes, AKTs have been reported to break. The disconnectors break in two where the spring sits in at the small hole. One person had it happen twice.

Jim can't seem to grasp that cast is as good as the casting. Machined from forging, is as good as the machining and the forging.

Nothing whatsoever, as to the quality of the part, can be ascertained solely by the method of manufacture.

Personally, I like the Arsenal. Quick trigger job and I have a great combat trigger.

I have Geissele 2 stage in all six of my SCARs, so I'm not resisting the cost, but AKs need an AK trigger. Never cared for the red star either. Except perhaps in a PSL. Just like I won't use a single stage in a semiauto. But it's fine in a bolt gun.

Got one Red Star in a PSL I had built. Two in SAR-3's where the hammer needed changed to prevent the one that came in it from mushrooming the back of the bolt, and one in a Arsenal 106 I just got because I hated the factory trigger and frankly was too lazy to screw with it and run the risk of making it dangerous. I know my limitations. LOL
