Cool guns, owned one a few years ago. The ones with the steel forearms/bipods are even cooler. They're inherently uncommon but this is the first one I've seen come up for sale in a long time.

Not a bad price either.

Not a bad price either.

I agree, no way will it last for 13 days. I paid 3K for the one I have 4 years ago. Of course the one I have has not been shot since leaving the factory.

Picked up the Bipod 2 years later for $20. :)

Very nice snag for someone with money burning the proverbial hole. Collectors dream catch, shooters need not apply.

Well that didn't last long.

Curious, what is it that makes these higher priced? Limited numbers? Complete kit? I know nothing of the CETME other than what I have seen from the Angry Beavers in VT.

The M.A.R.S. CETMES were imported in limited numbers between 1965-71 IIRC and were manufactured as compete rifles in Spain. They feature the swing-down type lower only found on the early HK G3-type imports (not clipped and pinned like later guns). They've never garnered the same attention as the early Santa Fe HK G3s/41s but came in around the same time and are quite scarce and will likely continue climbing in price.

AGG can likely help us out with total numbers?

Actually, they were clipped. The new pin hole is located (on the FCG) were the sear springs would be and further back towards the trigger. I have never known why ATF doesn't allow that for all CETME/G3 rifles. It would absolutely prevent a FA FCg pack from being installed.

This.

Santa Fe G3, factory ears. CETME, clipped.

I stand corrected then. Does anyone know what else MARS imported?
