I have a M1 carbine that was put together in the early 1990's by Arlington Ordinance that has an Inland reciever and a Rock-Ola barrel. Stock is fine and is a reproduction. Time has been a bit tough on the finish that Arlington used. I haven't shot it sometime and noticed some pitting in the metal begining and want to refinish it. I'm assuming since it was built by Arlington that the value of the gun is not as high as one built during the 40's or 50's, so I'm not worried about refinishing it impacting it's worth.

What type of finish were used on the original GI issued guns? Parkerizing or bluing? Who does a good job on refinishing the carbine out there?

Thanks

Most park, all park on rebuilds. Some early had some parts blued.

Don't have any pics on my website, just garands, but you get the idea. I can do it for $195, $35 ship.
