My P228 is an older model purchased in 1990. I need to replace the roll pins that retain the breeck block. Lost the originals when I removed it. Anyone know what size I need. The older model used 2 pins, one inside the other.

Which part numbers?

The pins should be replaced when they are removed, anyway. They are a Single Use item. You can get them from Top Gun Supply.

Yeah, brownells should have them.

And while the manual says to replace on removal, when I was doing OEM coating for Sig, I called and asked for replacement pins for the 200+ slides that were getting coated. I was told to just reuse the original pins.

If you can't find them, let me know, I'm sure I have a few.

Thanks guys. I bought a Sig 228 rebuild kit with pins but, they were solid pins and not the roll pin type. The new pins are to small. Going to the industrial supply tomorrow. They have a large supply of roll pins. I am going to try there. If I can't find them there I will contact Gunplumber.

CDN I checked Brownells but I think $17 for 2 roll pins is a little high.

The 228 with machined slide uses a solid (knurled head) pin.

The 228 with the stamped slide uses two roll pins, one inside the other. I do not believe these are standard, off-the shelf pins. I believe the inside one is a 2.5mm and the outside one a 3.5mm. My standard metric pins all have greater wall thickness.

This is why you were referred to where you could purchase the exact, correct, factory part.
