What is a fair price for a really clean, late 60's - early 70's , 4" basic model?

As a shooter? 250-300 depending. Buddy just got a KMK512 - stainless 5.5" bull barrel - with 3 mags for $325...

Rare as hens teeth - no one seems to want to sell a family "heirloom" - I understand. Frustrating if you want to acquire one.

Great weapons, got a Mk1 Bull military about 30 or 40 years ago, not real sure, been a long time.

If you get a Mk 1, let me know, going to cut some target grips for mine.

Ya can't find Mk1 grips anymore, and 2, 3, to whatever won't fit.

Seen them go near 400 for real clean ones, 250 to 300 for some dogs.

Is there any real, functional difference between the MKI and the MKII? I've looked at both and they seem almost identical.

bolt hold open function. on all, the target models have adjustable rear sights. triggers are nothing to write home about but there are several options for that.

For me triggers, tried several of the new ones, 2/3/4 and all have ugly trigger pulls.
Mk 1's, all had fantastic triggers, not sure what they changed, but something was.

Might know a dealer who has two six inch guns. One doesn't have the original grip but a stag copy. Don't think he sold them yet.

I just bought a nice 6" late 60s "Standard", 98%ish, for $290 with 1 original mag. Could have bought a new MK3 for the same.

This one was tagged as a MKI in the display case, lots of miss info out there. The "standard" is the no frills model, the MKI is a standard with adjustable sights and better trigger.

The standard trigger was OK as built but could be easily improved withe some stone work.

I also have a slightly later 4" standard that has had 10s of thousands of rounds through it. It is a remarkable gun for what it cost new.

MK2 grips can be made to fit the late standard by epoxying in the notch where the BHO goes. No sure on teh earlier one as I haven't tried.

Hey Richbug or anyone who would want an Original Standard Mag, I have one I bought in the market, follower button is on the right/ONLY, as installed in the pistol, my MKI is on the left so I can't use it. I paid $25 shipped, sale for same.
