11-2-15- fixed the title to accurately explain what I am doing or going after and embellished my wording to correct grammatical errors...hey I was tired when I posted..-

Hey guys, I am of the mind to un bubba a Yugo M92 Pistol to a rifle conversion and am wondering what rear trunnion options I could use to mount a buttstock. Now the rear of the receiver is angled but for my purposes as long as i can get a trunnion to work and a buttstock mounted I can deal with it.

Any rear trunnion ideas.....Thank you...

PS -in case wondering, i like the look of the Krink but since you cannot install a front grip anymore_fooking polishitins and crooks and liberal bastards...

So will be more useful as a rifle to me.... I have a better/correct fake pressor/barrel extension coming to keep the barrel passed 16" once perm installed...original extension was huge and a bit dubious in the manufacture...

In one of James Yeagars youtube clips he drills the back of some short AK to install an ACE folder. I can't remember if it was a PAP or not but it looked fairly easy.

Drill/tap two 10-32 holes in the existing rear trunion.

Install one of these:

You will end up with a slightly more downward-angle due to the angle of the back face of the rear trunion.

Or you can go with a straight bolt-on if you don't want the folding capability.

This pic shows the non-folder bolted to an adapter block - a part which you may omit skip if you like.

CNC Warrior also makes a folding stock that attaches by drilling a hole for a 5/16" bolt in the existing trunnion. It's very sturdy. I've used it on 2 M92s and 2 M85s. You can get it right or left folding and a choice of two lengths.

Thanks WEG,Shortround and Para- I will have to go buy the straight bolt on Ace since it will be too short when folded in Kommiie-mutha fkn-fornia and called an..'oooooohhhh-ASS-SALT Rifle... I have to have 30"OAL so that means a 18-20 barrel on a FAL folder---yea I am short a frikkin inch on a couple of mine so had to make the folder fixed open...

I will just attach that ACE to the back of the trunnion and call it done.... once I get the barrel extension......

Make it a truck gun.... someone once said every guy needs at least 1 ak in the collection.... well this and my home rolled 'zombie apocalypse amd65-complete with battleaxe stock-fill the bills... ha.:beer::beer:

Be aware that the ACE stock comes in three lengths.

11" -- 12" -- 13" if my memory serves.

I think ACE sells some sort of stand-off spacer (I don't like the look) that you might use on the ass-end to gain an inch or so when folded.

My PAP M92 with Ace Folding adapter and the Yugo wedge kit sold by wild bill on the AK Files. I have the Ace M4 folder, but the AK skeleton stock will also work. Don't buy a stormwerks or some other adapter plate/wedge, the angle won't be right. Wild Bill makes the best one out there.

That looks like just the ticket if you want to eliminate the angle.

There's airsoft one out there that folds to the left for about $50

It's a lot more work, but you can do the triangle folder, if your serial number is on the front left and not the rear.

What are the laws in your area OP? Here in the socialist state I call home currently, its a big no-no to convert a pistol into a rifle.

Actually was converted to a rifle before I got it and a cruddy job. A family member bought it converted as a rifle, they live out of state, decided not his cup of tea..so igot it in from another state a few years ago, went through the ffl transfer as a rifle and been languishing in my safe...i was a bjt pissed when I dug into the markings and traced the origins..so I have decided to fix it,correct the bubba... Regarding fed law you can change a pistol to a rifle no problem...going original rifle to pistol is a no no or go c3 sbr.
Since it was processed as a rifle to me it is a rifle in the states eyes..now how it affects the overall classification I don't know..all I know is I bought a rifle and then found its origins after researching the markings....

Bottom line,I want it totally legit so if down the road something happens my defense is I bought a rifle...i have never had one of these and truly thought what my family member bought as a rifle was indeed a rifle...

That's all I have..

It is perfectly legit under federal law.

Please cite the CA law forbidding it - that's a new one to me.

Generally, the legal problem comes up when going rifle to pistol, not vice versa.

That South Carolina may have a cockamamie law that probably pre-dates Jim Crow would come as little surprise.

I actually have spoken to an atf agent who used to come to the LGS and would bring seized toys to show people and hand out literature. He is actually pretty cool, we spoke about rewelds, homebuilds, etc,he wants a pre 68 colt python as his holy grail.. He actually mentioned that a pistol CAN go from pistol to rifle and back to its original configuration AS LONG as it is not somehow reclassed as a rifle.... again I am not sure how htis affects this one but I intend to keep it a rifle, more useable. IF it would not be an AOW ,I would maybe add a fore grip and make it a cool 'pistol ' but that is out...

Side note- he actually asked me if I ever thought of getting a manufacture license... I told him I tinker and do not want that liability but he gave me the application packet and said he would walk me through it... also mentioned the 'build up to 49 and not mfr tax has to be paid' clause. I have a couple projects floating around that I would like to build ,maybe patent, but need an appropriate shop... but if I have a license it spares me from kommiefornia bullshit 'zip gun 'law shenanigans...

Kind of like rolling your own.. let say you build an AK pistol... then decide you want to try a rifle.... then decide you like the pistol better.... as long as you follow the guidelines and each version is legal under the appropriate class-rifle,pistol, and since you made it for your own use, you can basically do what you want....
