My BIL gave me a beater of an old 03. Missing rearsight assembly, magazine assembly, upper wood for stock. Beat-up stock. Dirty brown patina. Surprisingly, though dirty, the rifling appears pretty decent.

The only mark I can find is a serial number on the port side - C5332. I can't find any other markings of any kind.

FYI the rear sight is in front of the receiver and the bolt handle is straight.

Where are they normally on the 03 series?

Thanks

That does not sound like an '03.

That serial, and a straight bolt handle suggest Mauser.

Agreed with tdb59, doesn't sound very 03ish, not many variations on markings.

Sounds like a scrubbed Chilean with a C prefix, but that's just a guess without a pic

Not to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. I've only seen CG and HK markings before swede serials, but I am by no means a swede expert.
