From what I hear RIA makes one of the better import clones for the price .. I would not have a issue owning ones esp if your after a GI clone

They are kinda long on ugly, but I've heard no complaints that they don't work, and well too. The quality is hard to beat in the price range. I would have no problem carrying one after I'd put a couple hundred rounds thru one to deburr the innards.

I would like better sights and they do have newer and fancier models available. I like their "Rock" models, one step up from the GI plain Jane.

I have seen these--of them all the medium sized one, 4.25 inch barrel with novak type sights seems like a good carry weapon.

Yup, that's the one I like too. Standard MS (mid size)? Have not tried one of those plastic shotgun sights shown on the ultra, but think I'll stick to the regular.

Best thing about the Rock is the Novak sight cuts if you want to put some tritium night sights on.

yes, the funny sights they put on some of the pistols, not a fan here. I like the regular blade sight on the front and the tactical novak type on the rear.

Does this one actually come with a lack of terrible and gaudy roll marks?

I hope so! It appears that way in the picture. Mine didn't have all that. I have balked at buying firearms for that very reason

Sure beats the hell out of a Taurus anyday. I've fondled a couple and think they are very decent for the price point.

Well ill say this, when I bought one for a father figure friend of mine, he absolutely loved it. Mid sized 4.25" barrel ( I think), absolute butter on feeding, smooth as hell, and even less recoil then my 40 with 180 gr. HPs.

I was jealous soon as I fired it honestly. Great gun, good price, amazing gift!

If only .45 was cheaper to shoot.

I love my RIA Tactical. I have over 1k through it so far without a failure.
I would absolutely trust my life to this particular gun.

I've got a couple of them and they were well worth the money. Wish I'd bought a hundred of them back when.

No regrets with my RIA GI model, except the sights. Spend the extra $ on the Tactical model.

Or, get the 22/45 combo - the 22 conversion is all steel, just less of it (slide cut out like Beretta 92)

They are well made guns. I almost got one in a compact but was out of stock and I found an Amigo by Metro instead, They are the billboard kings! I want that new 16 shot double stack 10mm they just put out or maybe a reg. single stack haven't decided yet, need to play with one. Ha! They are really well made guns I use the XS sight and a Crimson Trace grip set up on mine and love it!

My 2008 era fullsized Tactical is very subtlely marked. I also have a compact they made in the same timeframe for High Standard that simply says "HIGH STANDARD MFG. CO." on one side and "CRUSADER COMPACT" on the other.

Then they got popular and RIA started putting the billboards on the slides. They've backed off a bit from that on some models in recent years.

I have 2 RIAs in 9mm, the triggers of both do not break as crisp as my Shooters Arms 1911. I have not shot either yet!:) I bought them at $300 after $50 rebates, I say good value!:)
