Yes, I have Beretta's and Browning's that cost thousands of $, but China hit a home run with that coach gun, I took it apart and cleaned up all the internals - it's one of my favorite FUN shotguns:-) $279.

And it totally serviceable for home defense, I've run 00buck threw it... no worries.

For the money, I would rather have a Baikal than a Shin Zing or whoever makes them. I did get one of the early Chinese knock-offs of the Winchester 1887. It would not eject 2-3/4" shells. I believe the Chinese worked off of an original Winchester blue print with a 2-1/2" chamber. I think they eventually figured out where they went wrong.

I think I paid $199 for mine a long time ago, and immediately disassembled it:-)

The internals looked like 19th century forgings, 20 minutes of stone work on contact points and slapped it back together.

VERY smooth, wicked on Trap if you react fast enough, if SHTF you can cut this down and have a cheap, SMALL, dbl 12ga that is totally concealable unless you are in shorts when it's 112 in Phx during the summer.

Got a pair of short doubles I like, a 12 and a 410. Fun and handy made by Stoeger. No outside hammers but I like them anyway.

Fire two blasts....

And I always do...after a big bait of brown beans and cornbread. Maybe more than two blasts even.:shades:

:D
Wife gave me one these, heavy as hell, built like a tank!
After shooting it, put away my Win Model 12 Defender and the old Mossberg 500.
Sitting here looking at it by the front door.:)

I've always had a weakness for coach guns, don't really know why. Currently don't have one but everytime I go to the gunshop, I have my eyes open :)

J - because they are SHORT, generally have exposed HAMMERS, and you feel like John Wayne when you shoot them - "winner winner chicken dinner" on all accounts:-)

I HAD a Norinco 97.
glad I got rid of it. It would pull your teeth when you fired it and the bolt was RAZOR sharp.

I picked up a Norinco/IAC 97 trench gun back in '05 NIB for -$200. It's still one of my top 3 firearms. Long guns and pistol favorites have changed, but my trench gun is still tops for a shotty.

I passed on a Baikal at the fun show and still regret it. Not sure what I was thinking.....they were asking $300 and it was new.
Been wanting something to shoot "cut" shells from. The coach gun would work. Or a single shot, like the H&R Topper I used to have.
