I have not seen that many HK 91's, G3S, Sar 3's in person. One thing I have noticed while looking at pictures is that there seems to be a slight variation in the receivers when bent. From the rear of the magwell to the front, the receiver looks to bend upward. Some look more noticeable than others. Is it just the angle of the pictures?

I've never seen what you describe on a rifle, only in pics. I think it's likely an aberration in the pics due to too small a lens, too close to the subject. Kind of a fish eye affect.
I've also seen barrels look bent and wood look warped because of the same affect.

Looks more like it bends upward and the straightens back out again right at the rear of mag well.

If the mag well was wide it would look like that.

Are you saying you see the same thing? It's really bugging me I can't tell if it's real or not. I'm trying to find a picture for all of you.

I have one receiver that is open on the left side of the magwell.

Any ideas?

It also seems to have had all its marker proofs removed via welding over or grinding off. Any idea why or who would have sterilized this gun to this extreme? Rhodesian removal of the South African proofs runs through my head, but there aren't any RAxxxxx numbers on any parts. Perhaps these parts werenot ever meant to be RA marked like the bolts
