Hello Guys

Anybody know the serial # cutoff date when browning went from a forged to a cast receiver to stop the frame cracking from the 40s&w. Thanks S Rock

FN introduced the Mark III .40 S&W High Power in 1994. I bought a '94 .40 Standard Model with the polished blue finish, checkered walnut grips, and the Millett adjustable rear sight. I can't help you on your serial number question.

After FN determined that the cast receiver was stronger than the forged unit they started phasing out the forged receiver for the 9mm models. FN used up the forged units for the 9mm pistols until the supply was exhausted.

I have two forged receiver HP's and two cast receiver HP's. Quite honestly I can't tell any difference between the two when it comes to quality and performance.

And so it goes.
