Anyone buy them? Just ordered 10 at eight dollars each in wraps; apparently the max you can order.

I tried to, but no success. Think you have to know the secret handshake or be bonified and certified member of the CMP squirrel club to buy the nuts.

The CMP site states 10 max per customer. Not sure if that is per customer, literally, or per order. If you want, I can try and order some more for you since apparently I am a CMP Secret Squirrel Member....

I'd appreciate that as long as it wouldn't jeopardize your standing in the "Secret Nuts Society". :D

New in the wrapper, 91 vintage.....

Let me see now. The Beretta 92FS was adopted in 1985 and by 1991 the majority of US military units including the National Guard had been equipped with the M9. So why would the DoD be ordering new M1911 magazines in 1991?

It doesn't make sense but then I saw a lot of stupid things during my 32 years as a gov't employee.

And so it goes.

I'll see if they have any at the North Store Monday. Going with some friends, we all have their secrets squirrel club memberships... but may have to show the new membership cards.

All they had left today were well used, worn blue, painted, and covered in sticky stuff.

They did have a bunch of IHC/LMR field grades for $900+ I thought hard, but couldn't pull the trigger when I have other Garands being neglected.

"We cannot process this order because you are either ordering an item that requires your file to show proof of U.S. citizenship or membership in a CMP affiliated club, or this order will exceed the purchase limit we have placed on an item."

So sayeth the Head Squirrels at the CMP. Only 10 Nutz per Secret Squirrel.

Sorry, Mainer. I figured I'd try and score another ten...I waited until my original ten were shipped and then tried to order more. No dice.

I'll still throw three your way if you want them. I can deal with five for myself and I already promised two to my uncle. Original price of $8 each plus the cheapest shipping and they are all yours. No need to commit until I post pics; I bought and expect arsenal wrapped mags.

The Gov't stopped making sense shortly after it established itself.

The date disparity is probably due to some gubmint clown making a long term contract deal on one side of the cubicle wall for new 1911 mags while the other gubmint clown on the other side of the cubicle wall was cuttin' deals for an incompatible pistola style. Those gubmint clowns should chat more while deucing in the head or microwaving their coffee to save us taxpayers some earned money.

The good news is that I learned that Checkmate is still in business and within an hour of me. I want to reach out to see if they would like to sell a crate of cosmetic blemished mags to me for scrap price. I'll even drop them off some pizzas and beers in the deal. They'd make great range mags that you can drop while moving and not really overly worry about if they get stomped.

I appreciate your efforts, thanks. I would buy whatever surplus you care to part with, but best to see what you receive first. My son recently bought a Dan Wesson 1911 and a few extra mags would be nice. Them Wilson Combat's at $30 per are digging a hole in my savings account.

Mainer,

Just picked up a tidy brown box at my front door today from the CMP. All were arsenal wrapped and sealed in plastic. Most have a 1991 stamp on the wraps and the one I opened has a Checkmate cage code and fits nicely in my 1911s.

Three your way for actual cost if you would still like them; I have my share and I'd rather them see some daylight than sit somewhere. They seem like a great deal and they should be good for your son's new Dan Wesson.
