I have a CETME 25 rd mag in very good condition. I have seen no info on this. I get the impression it might be rare as no info is available. Does anyone have any info it? Does anyone know the value? I might sell it and buy some HK mags.

CETME had 5, 20 and 30 round steel mags.
The 30 round mags don't come up for sale too often but they're out there and worth considerable more to the right people.

If it's a 5 or 20 round mag you might as well hang on to it, $8-$12 if your lucky....above that you'll never sell it.

First thing is to determine what you have, CETME magazine. (https://www.google.com/search?q=cetme+magazine&biw=1920&bih=888&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=oNIvVZSVFYPZggT3poHgCA&ved=0CB0QsAQ#imgrc=_)

Not sure how you couldn't find any info out there?

This is a 25 round mag not a 30 or 20. That is why I was unable to locate any info.

I counted as I loaded the mag. It is definitely a 25 rounder. It also does not have a weld like the one on the site you referred to.

Yes it is definitely a CETME mag. It has the 2 locating "humps" on each side unlike the HK mags that have 3 on each side.

I just found this, I guess they did make a 25 round mag....never seen or heard of one.

"the 30 round mags typically hold anywhere from 25-28 rounds and the 25 round mags hold like 22 or 23 rounds"

Interesting. The one I have looks like the one they have listed as a 30 round mag. It will only hold 25 rounds just like the quote states.
Thanks for the info. I wonder what it's worth.

So that's where those ammo pouches came from! Got some from a friend awhile back and could never figure out where they came from.

I took a closer look and it looks like someone, not me, did some filing to allow it to sit deeper in the mag well.

The 25ish rounder are hard to find but they lend the proper STG46 look:

During the Ban years I used to sell the 25 to 27 round Cetme mags for upwards of 75.00 each or more depending appond condition. I'll be putting some in the market place right now for 65.00 each. I bought just a little over 100 of them from an importer freind of mine a while back.

Lee

Thanks for the info. I think I'll keep the one I have. It's probably not as nice as yours as someone did some filing on it.

SOG (Southern Ohio Gun) used to sell the CETME 25rd mags. Sturdy and go bang every time.

Story that I heard at the time was that they were made in the Dominican Republic. Apparently the Dom Rep had a bunch of CETMEs at one time.

Of course, they also work in a properly functioning HK91/ G3/ PTR91.

The 25/26 round mags weren't made in the DR, They were made in Spain as were the Cetme's. The DR always buys used weapons and equitment. The Cetme was developed in Spain under the direction of Heckler,Koch and Schmit that later on to become H+K in Germany. When HKS developed the Cetme, It was over developed and it's magazines were thicker in metal than the later HK steel magazines.
