Is there any interest in AUGs any more? I'm guessing there isn't, since there has been no action on this web page for over 30 days.

I have a chance at a NIB original with 2 bbls, 16" and 20". The only ones on GB are used, and minimal traffic at around $2000.

Any input would be appreciated.

Well I owned one years ago, loved the rifle. Thing shot like a varmint rifle 1/2"-1" groups at 100 yards were easy. The the 1st ban came so I sold it, was worried about getting parts down the road. Still miss it but life goes on. If you can get it at a good price jump on it.

I think most aug people are posting on the bullpup forum. I just bought the new model aug a3m1. I think people are buying the new model over the older model.

I know nothing about them except for a recent article in Guns & Ammo that discussed their relatively new factory in Bessemer Alabama (Birmingham area).

The factory there is very near to a customer I visit routinely. That perked my interest and I want to learn more about them and plan to try and visit the factory (despite my general disdain for bull-pups)

Maybe there is something to it I have just missed? :)

I own an AUG A3 since 2013. Great gun.

Mine came without any optics, so I could mount my own.

I own the AUG used in the movie Die Hard. It is a fully transferrable registered receiver machine gun manufactured by Wilson. In the move it was wielded by the character Karl portrayed by Alexander Godunov.

When I got it, it was completely trashed. I had to replace every single piece, except for the receiver itself, with a factory Steyr full auto part. I had the receiver refinished by Lauer to match the original finish.

I like using it with a factory 14" SMG barrel. Muzzle flash is impressive. These pictures were taken with an original Trigger Tamer installed in a 3RB hammer pack to help with trigger pull. The 3RB pack is neat for the first couple of times. But, I just keep the selector switch set to full auto.

I got the AUG from Larry Gaglio from Capital City Firearms. He got it from Dan Shea from Long Mountain Outfitters. Dan picked up the weapon from Stembridge Gun Rentals back in '98 or '99. I contacted Dan with the AUG's serial number and he was kind enough to check with Stembridge. They verified it indeed was the AUG used in Die Hard. That's kind of cool.

I own two - an A3, and a rare A2 (the A1 with a replacement rail system).

Lots of spare parts, lots of magazines, several spare barrels in different lengths, and several different stocks, including the NATO stock that allows the use of AR magazines.

Love them both.

I have a Aug a3.. I mounted an Aimpoint pro on it... I absolutly love this rifle.. I have a Tavor also. But the AUG is my favorite.. It's the way it handles . I shoulder it better. I love the front built in foregrip. No regretts.... WarDawg

On my AUG A3 I'm running a Nikon m223. 1-4x20mm scope, in an M223 fixed mount.

Overall it is a very good combination, and the scope and mount look like as if they belong on the AUG.

Recently I changed the flash hider for a Manticore Arms Eclipse, for reducing muzzle flash. Can't wait to test it.
