Gents,

I've got to rebarrel my Norinco, and wondered if anyone had any barrel recommendations. I want it to fit right, and I can do a gunsmith fit, but if there is a near fit (?) barrel available that could be good too.

Want to avoid EDM'd barrels and already have 'gunsmith fit' bushing to do.

Can any of you make any recommendations?

I'd go Nowlin or Kart If I were you. Both are very nice but, In my opinion Kart is just a little more accurate and cheaper as well. Either way they are both excellent barrels and still more accurate than I could be.

Also the Kart barrels are carbon steel and can be blued or parked as well!

For 1911 barrels, it's real hard to beat Bar-Sto, and they have several different grades, from a semi drop in to a full match barrel that has to be completely gunsmithed. Check their website at http://www.barsto.com.

Plus many for Bar-Sto. Roto barrels aren't bad either. Check ebay since NM barrels pop up now and again.

Honestly, the slide/frame fit is just as important as a quality issue. Hand fit a 1911 and you tend to learn a lot.

This should work fine, ebay 89.00 roto forged. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Colt-1911-45acp-Barrel-Government-Length-Brand-New-/301539992854?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46352f2516

I would recommend the Barsto barrel/bushing unit. I have had five of them over the years, all fitted to Colts. A 9mm Para, .38 Super, 10mm Auto, .41 Action Express, and a match grade .45 Auto. I have never heard of anyone getting a bad Barsto M1911 barrel.

And so it goes.

Ended up going with Storm Lake, we'll see how it goes. I'll post up when I get it done...

I had a Colt match bbl. and bushing installed with a match trigger. It runs and shoots unbelievable. I will never part with it.
