Not mine, but one I've always wanted to see in person:

Below is the only Model 84 belt fed 7.62x51 in the U.S. This weapon is currently owned by Robert Johnson and he says it's not for sale at any price. This weapon fires from an open bolt at 1800 RPM. There is also one rare prototype M84K with a 10 inch barrel and folding tube stock, this rifle is also part of the Robert Johnson collection but no photo was supplied. Be aware there are forgeries on the market but the original version can be identified by the Finnish translation of "Come get some" stamped onto the side.

Those Fins must have a good sense of humor. " Come get some"
I would like to see how the feed works.

Factory? I'm not so sure? A heavily modified M-78 maybe. Do you know if it is marked M-84?

I will add a pic of my m71 tonight...but I have a question too...what is the best .223 mag substitute in your opinion VALMET - weiger or bulgy? Im giving up on finding factory mags and want to modify a 1/2 dozen or so, but im torn on which way to go.

I don't have a lot of experience with aftermarket mags for Valmets but if I were you and was going to put the time and money into converting a batch I'd prob go with the Weiger as they are steel and similar to the 2 and 3-rivet Valmet mags.

Looking forward to pics of your 71!

Thats what the rifle came with...a single weiger mag....looked similar enough that i mistook it for factory. :|

Im leaning towards weiger mags too.
