View Full Version : who all here has a 75?

February 14, 2015, 06:49
Seems slow here, so I thought I'd see who all has a 75, and how you like it.
I have a 1986, no import marked, pre B. Love it.
No problems,or feeding issues, and is accurate with whatever I feed it.
I have 6 mags for it too.

February 14, 2015, 07:32
I have a 75B. Carried one for 2 1/2 years. A p-35 before that for six months.

That is where I learned a 75 mag will fit in a HiPower if you file a small slot just above the CZ's slot.

Then you can only carry one magazine for two types of pistols.

Works like a charm if you also have a P-35 HiPower. No need to worry about whether you have the right mag for the pistol.

I unfortunately had to get rid of my P-35 because my hands can no longer operate the slide as efficiently as they used to.

The 75's double action is nicer and I personally feel it has better ergonomics.

75 D PCR

Fifteen rounds of 9's in a compact pistol and the best grip on any handgun ever.

CZ 75 BD, love it. Most accurate pistol l own. Well balanced and largest capacity too.
Have a P01 as my CCW but will sometimes choose the CZ83 to carry!

Bought this one at a gun show in Lakeland, FL many moons ago. They had a wooden crate full and I inspected them all for slide/frame fit and general qc. This was the nicest of the bunch. Very accurate piece. Fifteen round mags work great, bought some 16s a while back but haven't tried them yet.

1987, non import, 100yd minute of man.Jeff Cooper was spot on!

February 14, 2015, 20:34
Had a clone w/ slide mounted decocker (Tanfoglio TA-90), loved it, regret selling it.

Am considering a non-plastic 9mm or 40, and the CZ or clone thereof (I work in education, can you say "underpaid and broke"?) is on the short list.

February 14, 2015, 21:46
I got the SP-01...holy crap what a gun! !! Most accurate handgun I think I've ever shot.

I got the SP-01...holy crap what a gun! !! Most accurate handgun I think I've ever shot.

Me too. Still shoots a bit low. Trigger stinks. Slide too small unless wearing gloves. I love it.

Three - 1984 Bauska import sitting, stripped, in a box waiting for a refinish since the OEM enamel kept flaking away, '80s AT-84 clone from Switzerland and "Retro" model 75B.

February 15, 2015, 12:41
Oh heck yeah! My absolute favorite! Have had several. Currently have a 75BD and a po1. I shoot these better than any other pistol I have tried.

Have a couple. My wife confiscated the PCR from me, that just gave me the excuse to get the alloy frame compact for my edc. The stainless is hers also.

i have a variety of 75 and 85s.

after getting my 85 many years ago and after getting some decent $$$ for being a slave i was able to buy more. Unfortunately there are way more other toys to buy too so my CZ purchases have slowed.

February 19, 2015, 23:24
Thinking of night sights for my CZs. Any one try the Mepro night sights? I wish they made the Trijicon HD night sights for these models.

Got a Bauska marked pre-B I bought at the Neu Ulm Rod and Gun club back in1989.

They got caught up in one of the periodical ATF "can't import those" deals, already marked. No one would buy them in Europe, so the Rod and Gun clubs bought them cheap.

Now also have a CZ83, and just picked up a like new CZ Kadett for 450 bucks.

Love my CZs

February 20, 2015, 20:05
I have a 75-B in .40 S&W, i cannot miss with it ! Fits my hand perfectly, I'm selling my Sigs because the CZ is so much easier to shoot. I put imported wood grips on it, from Thailand. Looks good, shoots good, I love it. It will be the last pistol I part with!

I went looking for a NIB CZ-75 in 9mm but the dealer didn't have one. What he did have was a NIB 85 Combat 9mm which he would let me have at the lower 75's price. So I bought it. Came with two 16 round mags and a mag loader. Bought two more Mec-Gar 16 rounders and I was good to go.

Shooting the 85 is a lot like shooting one of my BHP's except for the trigger. My 85 is accurate with just about any load I have shot to date. Some of the responses to this post indicate that the owners of a 75/85 have sold off other 9mm pistols such as Sigs. I like the 85 but there is no way I am getting rid of any of the 15 other 9mm pistols I own. Variety is the spice of life after all.

And so it goes.

My lady friend in SD got herself a CZ-75B in .40S&W after she shot mine in 9mm.

She loves her revolvers, but that CZ is her goto gun for SHTF.

February 21, 2015, 18:09
Went to Knob Creek a few years back and fell in love with the CZ 75B. I knew I had to have one and was searching for the best price. I get on the marketplace forum here and there it was. Bought it, love it, most accurate of all my pistols. Fits my hand better than my others.

LOVE my new PCR!

Got a Tucker & Byrd holster...hope its a good one...

February 22, 2015, 21:08
Damn you all!
Damn you all to Hell!!!
This thread made me go to my LGS today and handle a few CZ 75's.
I have never felt a gun that is so natural to my hand. I am in Love!
Of course the one that felt the best was the SP-01 shadow.
The $1300 one no doubt. Can I get close to the shadow's
smooth and silky feel with a little work on a 75 B or 75 Omega?
The sights are $84, I guess the grips would be available?
What else would need to be done?

February 23, 2015, 11:07
Glad we could help!

The Shadow is an up-graded 75 and costs about $300 more. Exactly what the differences are, I don't know. There is also a new version called Accu-Shadow that has an improved muzzle bushing arraignment and a "short-reset" trigger, improved sights and probably more stuff.
I doubt that these features could be incorporated into a standard M 75 or at least be cost effective.

These pistols are like the 1911 in that you can get a $500 version or a $2000 depending on what's in your wallet. For my purpose, the $500 one does every thing I want it to.

You guys are kill'in me here. Every time I look at these beauties I think back on the nib 1976 vintage cz75 I had. It came in a box that was about 16"x16" and reminded me of a pizza box and about 1 and a half inches tall. It had the rounded trigger guard and a beautiful blued finish on it. It didn't have any import marks on it either. I sure miss that beauty and never got around to shooting it either. I may have to pick up another but will most likely never find another one in the box like the one I parted with. Thanks for the pics folks.

February 24, 2015, 10:59
Had to add a pic of mine.
I think 5 mags, is enough.
Pre B mags are hard to find and $!

I have 2 CZ75Bs, one purchased in the early 90's all matte black with wood grips and another in early 2000s that the frame is OD green with the slide being matte black, rubber grips. Both in 9mm and both are spot on. Best ergonomic semi-autos I have shot and owned. Had a CZ50 in .32 that I had planned on using as a CCW but had issues with the magazines and she was a jammomatic ,couldn't find any decent mags so she had to go. Thinking about picking up a CZ82 in 9x18 because I already have an East German Makarov in 9x18 that I do use as one of my CCWs....

March 03, 2015, 22:55
I've owned a pre-B Kalispell import for many years.

Of all the pistols I've handled/shot in my 56 years, the CZ75 is my hands down favorite.

March 04, 2015, 07:50
Uh, yes, I do own a few CZ 75's!
Oh My, how did that get in there?

OK, I know it's not a 75, but it's the only CZ photo I have uploaded at the moment. CZ85 Combat, born on date 1993. I bought this new and have owned it since. I have several 75's just no pics available right now and I wanted to play!

I own a sp-01 Phantom and every time I let anyone else shoot it they want to keep it. I don't feed her steel case stuff ( it has to many calories) but she has ate anything I feed her no prolbem. She prefers the 147 gr stuff which has got me thinking I might need to send the ATF 200$ and get her a can. Not to jack the thread bust has anyone suppressed a 75?

March 09, 2015, 19:12
'87 Pre-B. Got it for $250 in the box locally to replace the one I picked up in Germany in '87 at Rhein-Main RGC and foolishly sold in 1990. Never misses a beat and CZ-USA can supply new Pre-B mags.

March 09, 2015, 22:43
Have 3 early ones, and one of them is very accurate, won 7 different guns in competition with it, have not shot the other 2 I just got. My first Cz 75 was in South Africa and it served me well, went about 80 000 rounds with out a glitch.

March 19, 2015, 11:36
HI All--

Just found this files, so I thought I'd chime in.....I still have an older 75B 'Semi-Compact' as they were called and keep that under my pillow, LOL. Got rid of my CZ52, and gave my youngest son myCZ82 he uses to carry for now.
Hope to get either a compact 75 or a Rami some day, just to many other projects, etc. gulping up my money!

I love my CZ-75s. I've had the 9mm (Turkish contract gun) since around 2001. I picked up the 40 S&W gun about 4 years ago.

March 20, 2015, 14:50
What is the dimensional difference between the beavertail on the -75B and the newer SP-01? Is the SP-01 much bigger?

March 21, 2015, 17:29
I am getting the itch for a CZ75. What models have the drop hammer safety?

March 23, 2015, 19:31
CZ 75 BD has the hammer drop.

i should have added some pics

here is a CZ 75 DAO. Not seen a lot anymore.

Here is an early CZ 85 with what i would call a 85 transition with the low profile adjustable rear sights.

April 05, 2015, 17:12
SP01 with almost every Cajun part known to man, an 85 Combat trigger, Dawson front sight, CZ custom Comp rear. 5.5# double, 2.5# single. Will ignite any primer Ive encountered.

April 05, 2015, 17:35
I have a CZ-75bd love it. fits my hands real well. not sure why anybody would want anything else in a 9mm

April 16, 2015, 20:03
I've owned a couple of CZ 75Bs over the years. A full size black enamel, a compact with a nickle finish, and then a green frame black slide full size. I mounted Meprolights on the last one, which were fine and POI was same as POA. WHile they're good guns they just never did it for me, I like my Glocks and Hi Powers better (and Tuaurs 99s, for that matter).

However, I do really have hankering for one of the new Retro models. To me that profile with the rounded trigger guard and non-thumbrest grips is so much more attractive. I just can't bring myself to pay West European prices for an East (Central, anyway) European pistol, especially now that the Czech Krown is down 25% over the last few months. You'd think with all the Turkish competition, they'd be a little more competitive price wise.

April 16, 2015, 21:31
I've never had a real CZ-75, but I used to have a Tanfoglio clone in .40 S&W. And I recently bought a Canik S-120, which is a Turkish clone in 9mm. Shot 500 rounds of FMJ, JHP and 158 grain cast bullets in just a couple of days, without a single malfunction.
