I'm looking at a scope for my VEPR 7.62x54R, really wanting an original Russian scope to go with the SVD furniture, are they all fixed to the left for Right-handed shooters or are there centered ones? Pics never seem to show.
Thanks

If it's a POSP with an integrated mount, I would say yes. I have never seen a centered one. I had a 1P21 and it was a lot closer to center, but still offset.

I read that the SVD was originally designed to be able to use stripper clips and this is one of the reasons. Also that you could do field maintenance without removing scope.
I do know that you can get a mount that has a weaver rail on it and it is centered. Kalinka Optics has it here.

Then you could use one of these.

Hope this helps.

Suspicions confirmed, thankyou... that is the exact mount I'm looking at....
Now to find a ring-mountable scope with the Dragonuv reticle! :impatient:

No, I don't work for Kalinka. I just help them pay their bills. :uhoh:
