I am interested in the E2 upgrade. What parts do I need to replace and how difficult is it? Also, with the existing parts, do the slim grips Sig sells bolt right on? What's the grip like on them…smooth or does it feel like "grip tape" does that goes on stairs and potentially slippery surfaces. Thanks!

Also, any idea of the year? Thanks, guys!

Sig sells the E2 grip in a kit. You'll replace the boot, strut, and grips. It's not that hard, but you can hook the strut too far forward on the hammer and get a dead trigger. I'm not real good as a gunsmith, and I was able to do it.

Yeah, turned my P229 into an E2. Real easy, and I loved the ergonomics afterward. Grip texture was real nice.

I never got used to my 220 or S&W 4506 grips. Replaced them both with Hogue. I don't know why Sig doesn't offer a 226 type grip for the 220.
