Hello all!

Looking at trading for a Mosin in a PU configuration. I've looked it over and it is all matching. Scope is a repro, stock appears to be a proper PU stock. Blood pitting has obscured most of the bbl shank, but it is an Izzy from 1943 and there appears to be traces of an electropenced sn on the left side of the shank. Last two digits of this appear to be ...72.The rifle's SN is KC18xx. Bolt appears to have a proper anvil-formed bend.

Finally, there is a penciled SN under the handgaurd. The finish work is better than most war time 91/30's.

It is a Century import with the import mark and new SN on the reciever that is not covered by the mount.

What do I have and what is fair value for this piece?

Thanks!

I picked one up for about $800 if I remember correctly less than a year ago, with a genuine though not matching PU scope. Looks like there's a few on GB listed at that price as well.

Seen them for 450 to 550 depending on bore condition with new made scopes, all original and clean bores, got two from long ago,:D run now 750 to 900
Good rifles, both of mine are all out accurate, old and slow, but fine weapons.

Excellent words all! Thanks!

Does this one seem like a legit PU given the info?

Hard to tell.
Repro scopes normally come with repro scope mounts, the ones I've seen were ok.
If you can shoot it, do that first before buying it.
Will be able to tell quickly if mount is on correctly.
I've seen some bad looking bores shoot very well, just all depends.

I would pass on a pitted PU sniper rifle unless it was cheap, or a Finn.

The bore looks damn good. The only pits are over the bbl shank, probably from being carried or an ouchie. :]

The mount itself is milled steel and has a matchin stamp, dunno if its real or Century force matched.

Don't take this wrong but questions like this are mostly useless with out detailed pictures.

Century rifles are mostly builds on low wall receivers.
