What would be the best route to get a threaded barrel for a P245? Could you just take a regular length (4.4") P220 barrel and have it threaded? Looking at their website the difference between the P220 TB and standard P220 is .6" (5.00"-4.4") while the difference between the standard P220 and P220 compact is .5" (4.4"-3.9").

Contact Bar-Sto barrels, I'm sure they can hook you up.

I'll look into them but I was really looking at more of a DIY option. Anyone know if this will be acceptable. Looking more at the P series specs and the P229 has a 3.9" barrel and the P229 Scorpion TB has a 4.4" barrel so I'm thinking it should be fine just looking for additional input.

You would have to have a barrel from a standard P220 and one from a P220 Compact. Measure the distance on your P245 barrel to where it meets the barrel bushing and measure the diameter with a set of calipers.

You would have to do the same (at the P245 barrel length {where it meets the bushing} and compare diameters.

Something inside me thinks that they are different P220 vs P220 C vs P245.

If by chance they are the same, get the P220 std barrel and have it threaded and have a thread protector cap made out of aluminum and have it anodized.

My thinking is, if the P220 barrel is .6" longer, thread for 1/2" and still have .1" clearance to the face of the slide. The P220 Compact would be cutting it really tight with threads and cap hitting slide end/bushing.

Further googlefu answered my question. When I first posted I thought that P245 and P220 compact barrels were interchangeable but I just read that they aren't. Oh well.
