So I love my 52 but as anyone that owns one the fit and finish leave much to be desired. Time for an update. I stripped it and got rid of all the nasty machine toolmarks.

Refinished it in two-tone Cerakoat, welded up a slide release gave her some new look hand grips. Thought about some other things but for now this will do. http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1631_zps59887a70.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1631_zps59887a70.jpg.html)http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1670_zpsd8325977.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1670_zpsd8325977.jpg.html)http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1679_zps467e22e3.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1679_zps467e22e3.jpg.html)http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1676_zpsb15fd5ce.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1676_zpsb15fd5ce.jpg.html)http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1683_zps8155978c.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1683_zps8155978c.jpg.html)

Hmm, Nicest CZ52 I have seen, well done Jerry. Did you make the I assume CF grips?

Those are mine. They are a wrap. I filled and sanded the stock ones and used 3M Di-noc.

Funny but I was going to add sights but thought I would try it out as is for now. I still have some harrington products on the way.

I have the Harrington firing-pin upgrade on mine. It really helps.:)

Thank you. Today i took it up to a friend that owns a gun shop and he could not believe it was a 52.

Detail is one of those things that in my day job of 34 years if I F@(k up people can die kind of guides me in other things.

You should see my collector cars.:uhoh::whiskey:

Jerry, could you give a little more info about how you did the grips? They look bloody great!

Sure. I lightly blast them to rough them up then this. http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1651_zpsc79c896a.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1651_zpsc79c896a.jpg.html)

After I sand and fill again. Then we use a few coats of primer and sand some more. Note the primed grip in the slide release photo.

Then I give just a light coat of black and let dry. I then use 3M Di-Noc film to wrap them. It does get a little tricky with all the curves but under heat the film conforms very well. You need to cut and trim as you go.

A couple more of the grips without the clip. http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1675_zpsfb296e6e.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1675_zpsfb296e6e.jpg.html)http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/IMG_1674_zps345a542d.jpg (http://s884.photobucket.com/user/jerrymrc/media/toys/IMG_1674_zps345a542d.jpg.html)

Looks GREAT, I have one, I prefer to shoot this round out of a TOK but that is a very handsome pistol, well done.

I like mine as well. The finish on mine is almost as nice as my Mak's from Marks group buy years ago. I think the days of the cheap commie pistol are at an end. Been offered over $300 for one of my Mak's and 52's are going for $300+

That's a clean pistol Jerry. Do all Toks have the magazine release button instead of a heel release?

Sorry for the poor lighting, I recently Duracoated my CZ 52 in Stainless, and added some aftermarket walnut grips. Looks much better (to me anyway). These guns can be lookers if a little care and effort is taken.

They have a fascinating roller blowback design but to me it's like shooting a non ergonomic 2x4 hand cannon - I don't know how the TOK does it but it shoots the SAME round much differently... jmo... but I have put a LOT of rounds through each platform, I'd carry a TOK today, the 52 would stay in the safe.

Every time I look at mine, the shape of the slide reminds me of Darth Vader's helmet.

It's a great piece of engineering that was WAY over done, take a 52 apart next to a TOK - WAY over done but as a C&R type you HAVE to have one in your collection - felt recoil on a TOK is about half that of a 52 in my hands... and 52's have a bad habit of breaking firing pins. I love my 52 for what it is but I don't shoot it anymore, it sits in the safe. That said, it would probably cost $1000+ today to machine and sell a 52 pistol.

I put the Harrington firing pin upgrade in mine not long after I bought it years ago. That really helped the trigger pull a lot and solved the FP breaking problem. I love shooting mine, and have only shot S&B through it so far but have a wooden case of Romanian waiting in reserve.

Nice job Jerry...
Looks great!!!

Is Harrington stocking any parts again??
I gave up trying to buy anything from them years ago because every time I went to place an order they where OOS...

Id at least like to do the F/P upgrade on my pistols..
Prob shoot them a bit more..

Might be in luck, it appears they have done a pretty extensive update to their site:
