local dealer has a p14 45 for $450. canadian made, very good condition, non-stainless, what is the scoop on the 14 45? seems like opinions vary widely. & canuck made seems to be considered better. prices seem to vary widely also. feels like a manly p35.

Damn good gun. Big and a little heavy loaded but a nice piece.

I had one, Excellent pistol, I loaned it to a young friend so he could go shoot against the Oregon sheriffs entry guys, he beat them all, he now owns the pistol.

I spent about 40hrs on it slicking things up, it is Super slick, now to find another for ME. :)

I have one, same deal. LGS had it in their case w 4 mags. $600 OTD. Grab it and don't look back. Customer service is great too - I called to get DOB and they sent me an updated extractor and a new recoil spring. What are you waiting for? Stop reading our responses and go back and buy it. Then post pics...

I had one.

I could never get it to stop beaning me with brass long enough to enjoy it, let alone "get good" with it.

Altered the ejector, and it still beaned me.

As long as it has a regular 1911 type internal extractor it should be good to go. I wore out a P16-40, and replaced it with another of similar(1990s) vintage, nothing bad to say about them.

That external extractor they used/use has caused lots of guys fits.

I have one. Reliable but never could get it to shoot very well. I ask a little more in the accuracy department than most folks. If you need 14 rounds of .45 they aren't a bad choice particularly now that 14 round magazines are available again.

I have the P14-45LDA:

with some really nice Cocobolo thin stocks:

With 14+1 rounds of 230 grain ball ammo let's say it is a formidable handgun! The only .45 acp pistol that I have that holds more rounds is my FN (of course FN) FNP-45 that came with 1x15 round and 2x14 round magazines:

It is a beast of a gun, but an accurate beast:

I like those grips in the first three pics. Who makes those?

I have one also...started life as a Big Hawg (alloy frame) 14-45 and finish wore badly. Para paid to ship the gun back to them, refinish in Ion Bond and replace the alloy frame with a steel frame due to accelerated wear on the alloy. Damn impressive customer service! I had a Kershaw knife that I painted the scales and the grips on the Para for fun but they seem to be a nice pair. Love this pistol, it eats anything and is more accurate than I am.
