I thought it would be a .22 MG42 for a second until I saw it was an airsoft..Still looks nice..Didn't know they made airsoft as well...hopefully they will stuff a .22 rifle in that sucker to export:

Yes... Make one in .22, that's a really nice looking piece.

Rotate the receiver 45 degrees to feed from the side, eject from the bottom...stick their 110 drum in the side and enjoy...it would be even more fun in .22 Magnum

It can't be that hard...yep, 10-22 sideways, ejects right out the bottom. House the 10-22 mag in the drum, and voila.

Yea, in 22lr it would be kool. But it should be in 2/3 scale, the size of the Spanish mini MG82.
36"/11 lbs rather than 46"/26 lbs.

There is a company that makes a mg34/42 kit for a 10-22.

Here are pictures of the MG42 I made which is in .22LR. The MG in the rear of each picture is a real MG42 brought back by a returning GI. My copy is made from aluminium and is an 80% scale model except for the butt stock and and grip which are 100%. (I couldn't see scaling down the parts used by full sized hands.) The barreled receiver is a Ruger 10/22. I have the 30 rd. magazines for shooting but it looks better for display with the standard 10 rd. rotary magazine in place. All of the features work - the cocking handle, the bipod folds and locks and the front and rear sights fold down just like the real one. The ring sight was machined from a solid pieces of aluminum sheet and took two days of machine work to complete!

If anyone is interested, I made a set of drawings which can be used to make your own. The drawing set, instructions and CD with many, many pictures can be purchased. PM me if you are interested.
