Hi Folks,

Took my ishy to the range today and she broke a tooth. To be exact, half the extractor tooth.

Sooo. My question is, does the ishapore 2A1 sue the same extractor as the standard enfield No 1 Mk III?

The cartridge is entirely different of course, but he flat bolt face makes me hope that the extractors are the same as both extractors simply need to grip the end of the cartridge rim - which is roughly the same distance in both rounds.

That would be good as enfield extractors can be had, Ishapore extractors, not so much, according to a quick google search.

Any help appreciated!

No, they are not the same.
The No.1 Mk.3 is chambered for the rimmed .303, whereas the Ishapore 2A1 shoots 7.62 NATO rimless cartridge.
Therefor the bolt heads and extractors are different, as well as a few other parts.

You can purchase another extractor for your 2A1 from Numrich, fourth item down...

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dazed & Confused.

That link is just what I needed. Numrich's site has always confused me.
