I finally found a M-N Model 1891 (Not /30) that wasn't selling for a premium. Naturally, the finish is all chewed up. It would be nice to refinish it, but I'd like it to be as close a match as possible to the original, at least in appearance. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

It was either a coat of shellac or varnish, I don't remember which.
If you use your Google Fu I'm sure you can come up with answer

I think an oil finish would be correct for an early M91, but that's just going off of my Finnish Remington M91.
