Just don't ask me why. Tripped over these at GB while looking for something ENTIRELY unrelated and for some reason I just had to have the H&A and the IJ hitched along for the ride. Both appear to be in great shape for the price, but I have no earthly use for them. They may end up in a shadowbox nailed to the wall. Just have the seller's pics to post,.........may be a few months before I get them in hand.

I guess I bought them to force along the C&R licensing issue. Pretty sure the H&A is an antique but the Iver is 'modern'. I've been meaning to send in the app for my C&R and this forced me to get to work on it. Paperwork mailed out yesterday.

Hopkins & Allen for $60 BIN. Relatively rare longer barrel and the folding hammer spur is kinda neat. Lanyard loop clinched the deal,......just had to have it.

Iver Johnson,.......again with the long barrel(Jugs,......if you even think of mentioning anything suggesting I have a thing for 'long Johnsons' I will hunt you down and leave you for gator bait!). $100 BIN, couldn't pass it up w/condition.

*Note to Self* Never use a busy background for picture taking.

Both great buys. There are some fairly rare gems out there. I love buying H&R's and I-J's at auction for $20 and selling them on GB for a C note. Some times a rare one will bring quite a bit more. Some of my better ones were a $15 British Bulldog selling for $700 and 7 rusted pos revolvers that I paid $5 for the lot selling for $200.

I just sold two revolvers similar to the one in the top pic, but mine were in very nice condition. One was in .38 S&W and the other one was in .44 Bulldog. Nickel plating was in super nice condition. Traded them for a super duper nice S&W top break in the original box about two months back. I think I still have some of the .44 Bulldog rounds somewhere in the pile in the basement. I still have 3 "The American" revolvers in .32, .38 and .44.

I actually think the H&A in the first picture is in very nice shape. All I've got to go on are the pics from the auction but the edges and screw slots all look crisp. I found another set of pics online of the same model/vintage and those pics are higher resolution. The cylinder is blued, but the frame, trigger guard and apparently the barrel are all color cased. If this one proves to be an antique like I think it is I may have it in a couple of weeks. If I have to wait for my C&R it'll probably be a few months. Here are the pics of the similar gun,....

Slightly better pics of my gun. You can just see the mottling of the case color through the flash. I see a few small patches of rust on the right side barrel and left side trigger, but otherwise it looks pretty clean. Hoping for the best.

All I can say is ... the first one, with the Looooong barrel, has been "de-horned" pretty well ... that will be better ... ... at least that's what I hear ... .. .
