I stopped in a local gun store today to look around. I didn't expect them to have a P227, but I asked anyway. They had two. A regular 3.9" version, all black, with night sights, and this one, an Equinox. It has a longer barrel, stainless slide, and Tru-Glo sights. The front sight is a fiber optic and tritium night sight all in one. I'd never seen one before. Easy to see in daylight, and at night as well.

The trigger pull isn't very heavy. I haven't measured it, but it feels light for a D/A semi-auto.

This gun fits my hand perfect. If it shoots as well as the other Sig's I've had this will be my grail handgun.

I doubt I'll buy any 14 round mags. They're extremely bulky. Found a few pics of them.

I've been wanting to handle one of those and see how they feel. I like the 220 and have had several 1911 hi-caps. Didn't really like the 1911s. I'd definitely like to try a 227 out.

Shot the gun a little today. Pretty accurate. Sights are right on.

Both groups shot at 15 yards.

Group on the left is Corbon 230 Gr. HP +P

Group on the right is my old standby +P load from the Hodgdon manual. 230 bullet with 9.3 grs. of HS-6. Two called flyers.

When I was shooting the right hand group a guy sat down next to me and starting shooting an AR-15. Now why someone would want to shoot a decked out AR-15 at 15 yards is beyond me, but he seemed to have a knack for touching one off right as I was squeezing the trigger.

The gun fired perfectly except for the last round on one magazine.

It stove-piped a fresh round instead of feeding it. Base down, bullet straight up in the air. I've never had that happen before on a fresh round. Fired cases, yes.

Any ideas?

Congrats! Nice piece. Last Friday a 227 SAS brand new recognized me and I had to take it home. Only one I've been able to find. They are in short supply. As to the mag issue, I went out Sunday and touched off a few, my mags fed fine, just only would take 9 rounds. What gives with that?? Is being new causing the prob?

Thanks,

Fnsane

 My local indoor range is the same way. Just think of it as good training
