Does anyone know of a decent aftermarket front sight that will replace that fat front sight on an older (2008) Sig 556 commando? I want a replacement front sight that is fully compatible with a decent quality AR-15 rear BUIS that mounts on the picatinny rail, so the replacement front sight height is critical for it to work properly. The Sig 556 commando is an older (2008) model that has the green Sig 551 style handguards and a really cheap side-folding stock assembly (albeit with a Magpul CTR stock). I dumped the folder assembly for a fixed M4 style buffer tube (threads right in) and now want a decent set of iron sights for it. Any help is much appreciated,

What you are looking for is probably a SAMSON AR height folding front sight that is made to fit the front dovetail on the 556 gas block. They have AR or HK style front 'hoods'.

They also sell a folding picatinny rear to go with it:
