I have two DR200's, but figured it was finally time to get a real K2 in the stable. Just sent out payment for it today, should have it by next week! I will of course post pics when she gets here.

I want to take a nice close look at the hinge and stock, and maybe do a little brainstorming on what can be done for that stock on the poor old DR200's :shades:

If I can find one for under $1300, yes, I suspect I will add a K1A1 to the collection too...but it looks like the price has jumped up a bit from there in the last year or so.

I'll just have to be patient! ;)

One of the reasons I want the K2 is so I can do a little more "research" on the idea of a folding stock for the DR200.

I am thinking I may just design a new stock hinge knuckle and I have a trick up my sleeve for the stock body. I am thinking with some luck I can make it look just like a K2 and with some care design work I think I can keep the whole stock with adapter under $200...

It'll be quite difficult to completely replicate K2 hinge. The uppers are different from a DR200.

K2 and DR200 have interchangeable uppers. it's the k1a1 gas impingement that's different than the pistons.

I think that he made a misstatement and was thinking of the K2 lower with the integral hinge and the DR-200 lower without...

the K2 and the DR200 are the same upper and essentially the same gun. The only difference on the DR200 is the hinge is milled away into a "mortise" that the thumbhole stock (and Stoermwerkz stock adapters) attach to.

Making a new hinge actually is pretty easy peasy in the big picture, and by doing it from scratch I can get the proper 5 degree down angle when the stock folds.

...of course the seller failed to mention when i sent him money that he was going to be on vacation for 2+ weeks! It astounds me sometimes how out of touch some people are...

In any case, the gun *finally* shipped this week, and I should have it in hand by next week...better late than never I guess!

LOL, no doubt!

Got it today, looks good. Does appeaer someone swapped the FCG and used AR-15 pins, I will have to go get some proper pins from DRP.

The LOP on the stock actually feels good. Should be easy to copy the stock and hinge to work with the DR200, just a matter of having available time to do so!

I would be interested in a K2 type folder for my 200.

Congrats & good luck with the development!
