It is an enhanced elite in 9mm. This is a new model on a frame that you can buy the caliber kits for. Question is, where can you get them?. I would like to buy a 357 kit for it (slide, barrel, spring, etc...). Does anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks

I have seen .22lr kits on local market place from time to time, keep searching those and it won't take you long. I am thinking about a 229 myself with a threaded barrel for silenced shooting.

Have a P229 upgraded with a DAK trigger and E2 grip. Have the .40 barrel that came with it, but prefer to shoot the .357 Sig barrel I got. I didn't know the new frames were three way interchangable. Been thinking about getting a 9mm barrel for mine, but this is kind of a pain with the older versions. Good luck, and let us know when you find a kit.

I have been told by the factory that a Sig P229 in .40 S&W/.357 Sig would not interchange with factory 9mm barrels and vise versa with 9mm to either .40/357. This was due to differences in the 9mm slides and the .40/.357 slides.

Sig factory .40/.357 barrels are drop in interchangeable to either caliber.

Bar-Sto makes a drop in 9mm barrel that works perfectly in a .40/.357 slide. The Sigforum has tons of people that have done it.

I'm wondering if the meaning of 3 caliber meant .22 LR (Sig factory conversion slide/barrel and spring on factory 40 and .357 and you misunderstood?

FYI: The P229 uses the same frames for 9/357/40, but different slides. 1 for 9mm and 1 for 357/40.

The newer P229 frames will allow you to use any of the caliber exchange kits that Sig makes. Mine has the15 round mag that the new frame supports, and the 357 sig and 40 cal exchange kits are made to work on this frame.

I like having the 15 round mags(with two in a pouch you've got 45 rounds) and the new tapered grips make the pistol easy to handle.

Check Gunbroker and Ebay. All you need to swap is the barrel, slide, magazine and recoil rod/spring. I've scored all of those well under what Sig wants for a "caliber x-change kit".

look on the sig forum. I got a lightly used 357sig barrel for my 229 for a great price.
