SOOO stoked!!
Many years ago, I sold my best friend a Mauser with a Monte Carlo Blond tiger striped wood (not sure what kind) stock, that was the most perfectly balanced rifle I honestly have ever held, put it on target, and its almost magical how it does NOT want to wander its sight picture.. It just stays on it!
Anyway, per our agreement 20+ years ago, he would never sell it except back to me and for what I sold it to him for, a whopping $120!
My wife wants to deer hunt, I had bought her a Mosin, but its a bit heavy, so this she should love!
Will post pics when I get it. When I last was shooting it I was getting absurdly good groups :whiskey:

Very cool pics when you have time. Did he take care of it?

He says he took very good care of it, he is a Veteran also, a tanker (a treadhead :P) but the last 2.5 years he has had complications from being paralyzed from the waist down (for 17 years) and has spent most of his time in Hospitals, so I can only hope he has taken care of it
Will definitely get some pics for you guys, I am excited!!!
One of those super rare "feels perfect" rifles that shoots as good as it feels :)

Rifles like this are one in a million. CONGRATS, Sir!

I'm looking forward to seeing some pics.
If you don't appreciate a good Mauser, you're probably dead.

Of course I wished it was original stock lol being a military rifle enthusiast
It's is also a Spanish made one Mauser 1945 I learned.
However maybe it's the stock that makes the balance and feel that it has.
I may get an orig stock if I can find one for a good price just to switch out and see if the feel remains :)

I have a old sportized 98 Mauser in 30-06 that is a particular favorite. Somebody long-ago-a-time put what I think is a commercial take-off or replacement barrel on it. It has a couple of plugged screw holes at about 10:30 where a sight would have been. It also has a Fajen stock similiar to yours that has been professionaly bedded. The gun is a tack driver. All I have done to it is put a side-swing safety on it and swap the scope.

Congrates on you getting the rifle back and your buddy finding a good Gal. Hope he improves and can enjoy life.

An original Mil. stock will no longer fit unless you chop a channel for the Bolt Handle to drop into.

Got stripper clips for it?

Thanks for input guys, Mainer I do not have stripper clips for it though I would love to get some for sure :)
My wife likes it, much easier for her to handle than the Mosin :)

What is the easiest way to scope it?

Oh and an OOOLD pic of us when we were 15 8)
