A guy is selling one. It seems nice, good bore, nice wood. It's a mkIV. Is it worth $500? I like .303, just never heard of Longbranch. He says its English, I think its Canadian eh.

Canadian, for $500 it better be stone mint. More likely worth $250-300.

What Dan44 indicated. For $500.00 it should be NOS, or a FTR with a mint barrel and matching numbers.

Long Branch did no make SMLE's. Neither did they make no IV's. They did make No4Mk1's, very good ones, and they are a little bit more desirable than the English rifles. Some years are more rare and desirable than others. Here in the US a nice Longbranch would be worth $350.

It's a 1945 dated rifle, far from NOS. But not abused. I offered $300. See what happens.

I have both a No1 MkIII and a No4 Mk1* and didn't pay more than $150 for either.

I'll say though, of all the mil-surps I own, my Enfields will be the last I part with. Accurate, smooth, functional, and better sights than a safe full of Mausers. I couldn't ask for a better bolt action. Good luck with yours; hope you get it.
