S&W Model 25-5 .45 Colt that a previous owner sent to Magna-Port to have the barrel cut to 5", crowned, ported, action job done, and refinished in their Magna-Life hard chrome finish. The green front sight insert is their's as well. A really good shooting gun...

That Pre Model 27 is one fine looking pistol. I have always liked those older Smiths. May it serve you well:beer:

Lovely .357 Magnum. I don't think the barrel on your "5 inch Model 25-5 .45 Colt" is original, as the M-25-5 had no full length under-lug on the barrel, just an ejector rod shroud, like on your .357. Your .45 barrel may have been swapped off of a Model 625-2 or -3 in .45 ACP or a M-625 Classic in .45 Colt.

I love them big, strong, crisp, powerful N frames. Great guns for men which shoot great cartridges men like to shoot.

Buff - I am pretty sure that it is (a) the original barrel and (b) was cut down to its current length and recrowned, before refinish, by MagnaPort.

I really like your S&W 25-5, could you post a few more pics of her, I love my model 25 that someone had already sent off to mag-na-port for a full work over, barrel shortened, trigger job, ported, refinished, beveled rear sight and so on.

I feel Buff needed a reply.

I did some checking and it is probably more then likely a 625 barrel that has been installed on the 25-5.
