I was astonished at the similarities of my like new XCR to my like new Daewoo dr200. I don't have the folding stock on my xcr but just wondered if anyone else has observed this and if there is already a thread here I can't find it. I will post pics shortly

As a fellow XCR owner I can't say I noticed the similarity due to not owning a Daewoo. But I do remember that Alex Robinson stating that he copied features from other rifles such as the the bolt design is similar to the AK.

The XCR is really just the combination of the best features of many rifles that Alex felt would make the best overall rife when put together.

Is the mag for the XCR-M proprietary or, something adapted? Readily available?

TIA

It is not proprietary, I believe it is a SR-25 model I understand Magpul is making 308 mag that work in the XCR-M.

The daewoo has all of the same features except the bolt release is not ar15. The lock is the same just turned 45 degrees, the adjustable gas valve like the fal. The ar15 trigger system, the ak47 piston and a hybrid bolt

It even has folding stock and a fixed ejector
I love the design of both and I thought I was going to have to sell one of them but I think I am at a place financially for now where I can keep them both. In fortunately my project 68 ford ranger had to be sacrificed to allow this :(

The current Magpul .308 LR20 mag is a SR25 type mag and works in the XCR-M just fine.

The XCR-M is a 308 and does not use AR-15 Mag's rather like the AR-10 it depends on the manufacture as to which Mag's the rifle will use, there is one AR-10 that actually uses FAL Mag's.

I need to get the new gas plug for my XCR, it came with the original nut type. Mine's going to become my "Long Ranger" once the weather gets better.

I think he was talking about the XCR-L and the Daewoo. Both of them uses AR15 Stanag magazines.

I believe only the Old Rock River .308 takes FAL type mags. The new RRA .308 Rifle uses SR-25 mags.

Right now it seems all .308 AR types will be using SR-25 Mags. Even Armalite decided to make the switch to SR-25 mags. Their AR-10A Series Rifle uses SR-25 mags.

The Armalite AR-10B series uses the M14 type like mags. I think the Armalite Mags (AR10B) will go the way of the Dinosaur eventually.

The old Bushmaster BAR-10 took FAL mags.
