I bought two hi-cap 31 .357 mags for what is NOW a very reasonable price.

Any reason there should be a problem using them in a 22 ?
The only difference appears ? to be the markings on the mags.
I don't have a 31.

I've heard they will work.
Suposidly the same mag, just different labeling.

Thanks folks.
"NY" 10 round magazines for a 22 were in stock for about $6 more. :uhoh:
I wasn't keen on them, or the price.

Question #2, are Glock 10rds .40 mags similar to Springfield XD 10rds .40 mags which will accept 15rds of 9mm and often function with little to no lip tweaking?

Shhhhhhhhh..... they're listening:shades:

Will .40 & 9 Glock mags interchange? Seems like I hand cycled some 9mm out of a .40 mag in to a 17 or 19 once, but not sure if the opposite direction would work or not.

Other than for the round count holes...I was told long ago the follower is the only difference in the 9mm and .40 mags so I spent about 2 bucks on a .40 follower and experimented.

I replaced the follower in a Glock 19 mag with the new .40 follower from a 23 mag and surprise...surprise...it has worked fine.

So,.. is there a round count advantage in getting the .357 mag instead of the G22 mag? Or is it just availability?

Round count on the .357 and .40 hi-caps are exactly the same.
All parts and pieces appear to be the same, except for the markings.

There is a difference in followers for the mags in question.
The 31 mags have a changed follower to better support the bottleneck case.

In regards to g31 mag vs g22 mags, what do you think G31 owners did for hicap mags during the Clinton AWB/Mag ban? The G31 came out in 1998 and there were no civilian legal hi cap G31 mags available from Glock. They were all "LE Restricted mags".

We simply used hi cap G22 mags with our 31s and they worked fine. In fact I didn't buy any actual G31 mags for my G31 until about 2006 ...2 years after they were available after the ban ended.

I have some G22 mags for use in my G31. Works with no problem. I see no reason why the opposite wouldn't work.

Whirlibird is correct. the .357 followers are different because of the bottleneck cartridge. you can use the 40 mags in the 357, but can have feed trouble in the opposite..
