But, I still haven't shot it. :(

I plan to rectify that situation by next Friday with a full review to follow. But I can tell you now my example is really well built and finished. It isn't a Colt but I could care less at this point. ;)

This makes my 4th 45 Colt revolver. The others are;
Ruger Redhawk 4"
Ruger Old Model Vaquero 3,3/4"
Ruger New Model 4, 5/8"

I love em all especially the Redhawk with super hot ammo!

Sweet! We must have been thinking the same thing (close anyway). I got a 5.5" 1873 .45 today. In the same boat as far as shooting, but that will change soon enough. Hope your maiden voyage goes well. :whiskey:

El Patron, Cowboy Mounted Shooter?

I picked up a 7 1/2'' Calvary model, fit and finish is super, action is near perfect,a little light on the hammer, but smooth. It shoots a touch high a 50 ft but on center. It is as accurate as any Colt I have shot. None of them are meant to be target guns. Its not a colt but sure feels like my original 1886 SAA. Fun to shoot.

I want something like this in 45ACP or 44 special!

Timber Wolf

Nice, thanks for sharing. I am thinking about something like that with a little more barrel. I like my Rugers but something smaller & lighter would be fun for big-bore single action "plinking".

TW, they make that one in a 4.5" version too. My next will be a 7.5" Cattleman.

I got to shoot it for the first time yesterday and am pleased to announce it shoots to point of aim at 10 yards with some cowboy level hand loads. That's what I was hoping for so I am happy with the purchase. It drew a lot of questions and comments of admiration about it too. It does have some eye appeal, that's for sure!
