Got one today in a trade - very nice shape in .357. I have several SW revolvers but first time I have held a DW - it is very accurate and has a smooth action. I am pretty impressed. I may sell it - I would keep it with a nice 8 inch barrel that I could practice some distance shooting with.

Anyone know much about these?

I like mine a lot. I have 2", 4", 6" & 8" barrels for it but would keep it even if I only had one barrel. I really like the way it feels with the Pac. Grippers I have on it now.

If anyone knows where I can get a deal on an 8 inch barrel please let me know - I think that would be fun to shoot.

There are Dan Wesson 8" barrels listed for sale on GunBroker.com.

But, there were different generations of Dan Wessons and you want to check on compatibility with your revolver and what to look (out) for.

You'll also need a tool for whatever kind of muzzle nut yours has and a feeler gauge to set the cylinder/barrel gap.

I bought my Dan Wesson model 15 in 1975 and love it. I bought a stock blank years ago when they were available. Shaped my own stock to my hand. Fit's like a "Motie Watchmaker" made it for me. (If you're in SF you'll know what I'm talking about).:)

Now why do you want to torture the man (and me) by posting a link to “Sold Out” merchandise? I actually had that link saved to my favs. and am waiting on them to make a run. I would love to add one of their 6” heavies to my “collection” of DW barrels and see how it runs next to my old PPC heavy barreled S&W 10.

Eric at EWK e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago to say the heavy shroud barrel assemblies were back in stock so I ordered up a 6" assembly and a fiber optic front sight. They came in last week and look very nice. I have not mounted the heavy shroud to my gun yet but it is sure enough heavy! I am setting my Dillion 550b up this week for .38 Special and intend to shoot my old PPC S&W 10 in some competition later this month. After that I want to try the Extra Heavy 6" DW15 with both .38 Special and .357 Magnum loads to see what I prefer. Anyway, just a heads up that the barrel assemblies are back in stock at EWK and Eric seems like a nice guy to do business with.

They are highly rated firearms and very accurate. I have a 357 4" model that I will look for a 6" barrel for in the future.

Since the "D" and the "S" are adjacent to each other on the keyboard, I just assumed you had mis-typed and were going to show a picture of a REAL firearm. The S&W m15 Combat Masterpiece.

No, I know about SW and like them fine, but this one has an innovative switch barrel system that makes it quite versitile.
