Hi guys,

I'm looking for an open ( no tubular ) red dot sight, kinda like a docter or Burris Fastfire, that does not break the bank.

My Bucky has got a Tactical Solutions rail on top, so the red dot sight has got to be Weaver / Picatinny compatible.

Does anybody have any recommendations ?

Thanks,

After 2 trips to a local Gander Mtn I found a little Bushnell TRS-25, that sits right now nice and snug on my Bucky.

The first one was a Sightmark Mini-Dot, where the dot went out, regardless of what I did.

Adjustment range of the Sightmark was also not that good, at 35ft distance the sight's dot was about 1 1/2ft off when trying to get it zeroed using a laser boresighter.

The Bushnell was almost spot-on, just a couple of turns with a screwdriver, and I had it zeroed.

Sightmark : 0

Bushnell: 1

+1 on the TRS 25! I took a gamble on one and mounted it on my 870 12 guage. Works great, holds zero with slugs and takes the beating of a shotgun. You can find them in the 70-80 dollar range.

Hey 101,

how many rounds of 12ga. did your TRS 25 already take ?

I've got a Tasco ( quit laughing ) PDTS 132 on my Benelli S90 M3, and so far it has been doing great. After several years of use it still holds zero, and it took all the abuse that a 12ga can dish out.

The PDTS 132 is a copy / clone of an Aimpoint Comp M4, but for its price well made.

I've got two of them in use, one on the Benelli, the other one used to sit on my 18" barrel FAL, now it is sitting on a Roni Recon ( Springfield XD 9mm ) .

A square,

that was the thing that I originally had in mind.

Right now, as I've got the Bushnell TRS 25, I'm not going to switch.

Heck, if that little TRS holds up, I might just get me another one and put it on my MP5 clone.
