After I posted a question about removal of the grenade launcher on an M59/66, I found out from eodinert FALoholic # 1488 that the thing was threaded. I'd been told that it was pressed on. Of course I'd already gotten mine off using the "grind a slot and whack it with a cold chisel" method. The thread pattern is very close to 26 tpi RH and the o.d. of the barrel is .541" (for my barrel). The threads were cut right on the end of the barrel with no relief.
