View Full Version : Browning semi auto jamming

Friend of mine has a Browning take down semi auto that jams every couple rounds. It's a take down that feeds thru the stock and ejects out the bottom.

It fails to chamber about every fourth or fifth round-it ejects the empty fine, but the next round gets the nose jammed instead of chambering.I cleaned it and lubed it but it still does it.Also tried several different types of ammo.

It never has an issue on manually chambering rounds either.

Any ideas?Commone problems?

Hmm, Is the Feed ramp rough?, is the bullet catching on the bottom of the feed ramp OR on the TOP of the chamber? Make sure the alignment of the round being fed in, is in the proper position, then Re- align if the feed angle is off, that's the best I can do without seeing it. good luck.

Thanks for the reply!

Feed ramp looks nice and smooth. The round seems to catch at the top of the chamber, but everything looks smooth and lined up.He's had it for years but doesn't shoot it much and all of a sudden it's doing this.

Just kind of an awkward setup (to me anyway),but seems simple enough.

Glad to help, I remember those rifles to be slick little operators.
Some pictures may help us to diagnose?
