Hang in there. It took me that long to get mine and it was before 9-11. I've heard 8-10 weeks is the norm these days. Sorry I don't think there is a # you can call.
It will be worth the wait. I remember coming home everyday and checking the mailbox first thing! Damn, it was a long wait!

Be aware that everything at ATF and just about every other federal office is running slow due to the anthrax scare. Granted, this just gives them a reason for being slower than usual.
Call the ATF office (listed above) and see if you can get a status update on your application.

8 weeks for me too. What I want to know is if they are worried about anthrax, how they managed to process my check and have it clear my bank on January 2 after I mailed the application on December 26! Anthrax my arse!
There must be a cult out there they are getting ready to help out...

Expect about 3 months - Section 923 (g)(2) states that the application must be approved or denied within 60 days or you can file an action under section 1361 of title 28... but the BATF people know that someone who applies for a C&R in order to save a $10 NIC fee, and a $20 FFL handling fee is not going to pay an attorney to mess with them.

Couple of things to keep in mind. Whoever handles your state will usually be out of the office. You'll usually get a recording asking you to leave your name and number. No one will ever call you back. When you finally get through to the right person, they will have just issued your license the day before. Two weeks later you can call back and tell them you never got it. They will then say USPS must have lost it and they will send you another one. That one will actually show up in your mailbox.
Thats my story. 75 days from the time the check cleared in early October.

Mailed my app Jan. 3rd, they cashed check Jan. 14th, go the license Feb 26. I have had a Type 1 FFL before and I'm a LEO, so that may have made the checks a little simpler, I don't know.
