Only the early model of the Yugo SKS without the grenade launcher can be imported into Kali. You can find an ad for these in the latest issue of the Shotgun News. I personally prefer the Russian SKS. I snagged an SKS made in 1953 that was in unissued condition about 7 years ago. Try to find one at a gun show or at one of the online auction sites (e.g., www.gunsamerica.com). (http://www.gunsamerica.com).) Thanks to our Democrat-dominated state government, semi-automatic rifles with grenade launchers can no longer be sold. I guess there must have been a flood of drive-by rifle grenade attacks. [NOT!]
These left wing idiots have pissed me off to the degree that I contributed to the Republican Party for the first time in the 2000 election cycle. I even got a Christmas Card from GW! [of course it was just a mass mailing]

I just picked upa MAS 36/51 with a grenade launcher here in California, no problem. But ask for a MAS 49/56 or A Yugo SKS. I guess bolt actions with grenade launchers are ok?
I heard if the the seller takes off the grenade launcher, you can get one shipped. I need to comfirm that.

Dumb laws..

Oops. This one is a 1954, won't do for PRK.
Sorry...

Steyr,

Don't have the PC right at hand, but Kali has a law against launching devices. IMHO, the MAS 36/51 MAY not be kosher in Kali . . . BUT, maybe the store you bought it from cleared it with DOJ !?

As you may know from my posts on the other boards, I just bought a MAS 49 and had the out-of-state seller remove the launcher sleeve from the rifle and ship separately. Installed on the rifle, it is indeed a launching device . . . removed, the sleeve is just a piece of hardware - that's my story and I'm sticking to it! And I won't reinstall the sleeve as long as I live in Kali.

Now, for rifles like Garands and FN49s, that had an accessory, clamp on launcher - DOJ would probably consider those to be launching devices whether on the rifle or not!

On the Yugos and the MAS 49/56s, I don't know for sure but I was told that those devices are permanently mounted and are not easily removed.

Like you say - stooopid laws (a quote from Dennis Kroh). Seen any rockets or rifle grenades for sale lately? The problem is with the things that go boom . . . not the launchers!

They know that. It's a simple "divide and conquer" philosophy.
The words below apply here, but unfortunately are too long to be used as a signature on this forum...

"...they came for the machineguns, and I didn't speak up because I didn't own a machinegun. Then they came for the semi-autos, but I didn't speak up because I didn't own a semi-auto. Then they came for my bolt action rifle and pump shotgun, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me."

Unless there is some exception I haven't read yet, as far as I know ANY grenade launcher is illegal in Calif. Dumb laws, to put it mildly, but often enforced with zeal ... some politically ambitious D.A.s would love to be able to publicize their prosecution of "illegal arms dealers selling grenade launching weapons of mass destruction".

Russian SKS are named C&R in CaliBan country and are OK.

Somebody was cutting off the Yugo Grenade launchers for CaliBanians :), and adding $25 to the price :(
