I was wondering that with all the current praise for the 300 Blackout round, why no one has come out with a 300 Blackout barrel for the Aug or MSAR rifles? Is the amount of capital required really that much?

Microtech has just announced that the E4 MSAR is going to be manufactured again and will have the option of the 300 Blackout. Hopefully it will fit current MSAR's.
CMMG is selling 300 Blackout AR's in three flavors for under 1K.

That is some good news if it ever comes to pass, I will just have to save up my money until I can afford one, or just stop buying FAL parts and accessories.

I'm not one to usually go with any non military issued round. However after firing several of these and seeing how easy it is to reload and needing only a barrel change. I think this round is here to stay...and I am sure someone will step up and build barrels for the AUG's in 300.

MSAR says their barrel is in R&D, but can be ordered. Hmm...at $575

The last I've heard was that the AUG was having gas pressure issues in .300 Blackout, and did not cycle reliably.

If Steyr would make an AUG just for subsonic ammo, I would be all over it.
