What condition? I looked at one, like new that sold for $750.00 Some sniper versions $1600 to 1800.

The prices lately have been all over the map but Dean P is just about right for a median - perhaps a bit low. This is for a Luxembourg (AL) contract rifle in 90-95 % condition.
I've seen the regular rifles go from $500 up to $1150 depending on how good a shape it's in and how impatient the buyer is! I just connected a seller and a buyer on a deal for an original Luxie sniper with the wood cheekpiece and scope and that deal closed just under $2000.
You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Thanks guys. I was looking at one the dealer was rating it to be about 90%. i found it on the internet with pictures. From what I can see in the pictures wood looks good, finish has a little wear here and there. He was asking $800.00 for it. Dont know if I should buy it or not....Forgot, its an "AL" rifle.

Goose,
Would you know where I can get an original muzzle brake for an FN-49 ? If not, I also talked to guy that says he can copy one if I give him the dimensions. You wouldnt hppen to have dimensions for one ?
Thanks,
-Erie

The original FN muzzle brakes that were fitted to the Venezuelan contract rifles and to the Egyptian snipers are unavailable as far as I know.
Landry mentions on his FN-49 web site that someone had tooled up to make them but was no longer doing so. If you don't have the URL for the Landry site, I can post that tonight.
I actually did draw up a crude print of the brake more than 10 years ago. I'm no machinist and don't know if I captured all the dimensions needed to replicate the brake. If you want, I can look for that tonight and scan it and email it to you. It's in pencil so I don't know how well it will scan.
Let me know . . .

I collect FN-49's
A 30-06 AL/LUX; 90% if matching for $800.00 is a good price, not a great price, but well worth it for what the going prices are. If it isn't matching still not to bad of price, at 90%.
However be aware that some of the 30-06 Rifles Do Not have the Reinforcement Lug, even if this is the right Stock if you intend on shooting the Rifle you should get the Stock with the Lug, this will set you back another $75.00 to $125.00. If you don't you WILL CRACK the Stock, this is not a maybe, this will happen. Also be careful I've seen Stocks that in a Picture shows the Lug, but is just a wooden Dowel in place of where the Lug goes. I don't no why, there not hard to come by and usually run about $5.00. But if someone has Plugged the hole with the Dowel you will have to have it removed and reworked to fit the Lug in place.
Also it's none of my business, but the LUX. 30-06 should not have the muzzle Break, just the standard Muzzle Cap.

Thanks Goose, if you find that drawing it would help. I will have to send you some info for your survey as soon as i get the rifles. I have the .30-06 a 7mm and 8mm on the way.
Colly, thanks for the info. I did end up buying it I will have to wait till it arrives to see if it has the lug in place. If not where can I get one ?
Thanks again guys !!

You may have to make one, try Brownnells for a adjustable recoil lug or Gun Parts Inc.

Aries - check your email - you should have the print of the brake. Only thing missing is the metric thread pitch . . . The dimensions on the print are in inch - not metric.
Now you owe me your data for my survey ;)

I can't believe they're that high now, Numrich doesn't list one but I would call.
RE: replacement I'd ask Goose as to how it would be done you don't want to mess up a good stock. If it wasn't made for it. You might be better off selling the one you have and buying one from Northridge with all the parts you need.
I see from your profile you live in Ca.
