Being a Mosin-man I'm not too studied up on the Mausers but I have a near perfect M-48 that I love - shot a 10 round 3-1/2" group off the bench Yesterday - and I need a front sight hood, cleaning rod, and sling for it to complete it. Do I just buy those parts as advertised for a K-98 or are those, and others, specific to each type of rifle?
And on a side note...does anyone know where I can buy a rear barrel band retaining spring for a Mosin-Nagant 91/30? Thanks.

Hello there. I got an M48A and three K98k's. The front sight hood for both are the same, so no problem. However, the actions are not. The M48 action FN98 intermediate action, is about 1/4" shorter than a M98 action. Therefore, length critical parts are not interchangeable such as the bolt, firing pin and spring. However, other parts such as trigger/sear, cocking piece, safety, etc. are interchangeable.

As for the M91/30 parts, I belive Tapco has small parts. Check their catalog online by going down to vendors and clicking their banner. If you go by using the banner in this site, I belive that the site benefits.

For a really large number of all firearm parts you can check Numrich Gun Parts Corporation. You can check them online @ www.gunpartscorp.com. (http://www.gunpartscorp.com.)

Hope this helps, and Good Luck.
