@*&#@*@# digital camera. Looks like a new camera is in the works.
Here is the dope on the Winnie....
Receiver 1,287,xxx Feb 43 vintage
Barrel SA 6/47 (postwar rebarrel obviously but no rearsenal marks on receiver)
Bolt Winchester (D28287-1 WRA)
Op Rod uncut Springfield (D353826 SA)
Trigger group Springfield (D28290-5 SA)
Park is near flawless dark grey. Wood has one small ding on bottom of butt; otherwise, perfecto. T/E is 2 with excellent crown. It was worth the wait!!!
I cannot wait to get her out to the rock crusher to make her feel wanted all over again. ;)

I'm happy for ya. Sounds like a winner. I just hadn't been ready to take the Garand leap yet. Very nice rifles, but just want to get educated on them first.
Post some pics if you can. It may make me sway in that direction. LOL

Bring it down in March and I will bring my Danish M1 to the range. You know, the ones with the Danish marked receivers, crown and all that. Kind of hard to find these days.

Holy Cow--I just got a hold of a Winchester myself! Did'nt really plan on it, but during a fateful day two weeks ago ran into a old pigfarmer who struck up a conversation about mining gold....that turned into firearms(for real).....next thing I know he had a Garand in my hands and told me it was for sale! Never considered buying a Garand....but never had one in my hands either. I LOVE IT! My learning curve on Garands has just begun. A couple of interesting notes ref: your post which I'm not sure of the significance yet. My receiver Ser#1,372,XXX. My bolt number is oddly #D28287-1W.R.A.-being the same as yours. Trig group is #D28290-12-SA. Which is eerily close to yours. Not sure what the significance of the match and close numbers are, just thought I'ld share.

If you are going to shoot it be careful since it has the un-cut op rod, you might want to swap it for a modified or later one. It sounds like you got a real nice rifle!

IIRC you can get Danish from the CMP.

Not a Danish marked receiver. Quite rare.
