what size hole is drilled in the fn49 barrel in the gas block ifound 1 and there is no hole so it will not cycle thanks for any info

You have already removed the front HG and adjusted the collar that is under the wood (and invisible when the rifle is assembled!)?

The FN-49 has a slighly different looking system from the FAL.

Moving to C&R, BTW.
