Just picked up a new toy, a pristinge bore, banged up wood Hakim.
A see lots of info on the net about good reliability and light recoil but I don't see anything on accuracy. Those of you that have these big suckers -- what kind of groups are you getting?

Mine seems more accurate than the FAL.
The shooting is extremely nice with little recoil.

I usually get 2 1/2-3 inch groups at 100 yds with surplus ammo. Could probably tighten that up a bit with good hand loads. Very little recoil is right. If you like the Hakim, get it's Swedish cousin the AG-42 Ljungman (pronounced Youngman). You can easily get 1 inch groups and under with good 6.5 x 55 surplus ammo.

The "extreme Hakim"...what fun to shoot!! Less recoil than any other 8mm I have ever shot. 2" group was the best I have done with Ecudorian surplus. I know..it's corrosive. I am a glutton for cleaning punishment. Also, watch out for "the thumb". Ask me how I know.
Have fun with it.

I believe that the box magazine for the German Mg-15 can be modified without much fuss to fit the Hakim, thus giving you a 25-round Hakim. The mags are available at: http://www.ima-usa.com/p1a.html
for $15 per, 4/$50, 8/$100.
Let me see those assault Hakims!

I got my Hakim from Ellison's several years ago. The rifle has a super crisp trigger and will shoot 3" groups with all kinds of surplus including Turk, Equadoran, Bulgarian, Yugo, Egyptian and FN. I haven't tried any of the Romanian yet. Dan's price on Equadoran cash and carry cannot be beat, so I've been sticking with that.

Ellisons just put Hakims back on their site for $350.00. I heard on another board that they had been sitting on 750 of them. Get one while you can, before theyr'e gone for good!

There is a Hakim at a local shop going for $265. It looks like it is in excellent shape but I haven't looked down the bore. I really want an AG42b but am thinking about getting the Hakim since it seems to be priced quite a but lower than they are going for these days.

Mine runs about 3.5-4" @ 100yds, but that is with a bore that was owned by someone who didn't understand "corrosive". It looks like a sewer pipe with some vague marks that may, or may not, be rifling. Springfield Sporters had new-in-grease barrels for the Hakim and the 8mm FN49, so I picked up one of each. Haven't installed them yet, but at least I have the parts. It's one of my favorite rifles to shoot, just wouldn't want to carry it around all day.
